Random Ramblings

It is winter. I hate it.

My room is always freezing cold - you could store ice cream on top of my chest of drawers and it wouldn't thaw. My heater is weird - no on/off switch so I have to plug it in to turn it on and hope for no negative consequences when I pull the plug to turn it off again. I've had a few sparks from it so far but that's all... for now.

It was nice last night for me - the cat came striding in at about 5am and curled up snuggled against me purring up a storm. The best lullaby I've ever had! Though she was a little like a wind-up toy - her purring would start to quiet down, then I'd stroke her a little and she's start right back up again. So cute!

I had to go to Ascot Vale again yesterday for an audition workshop with a casting director from the ABC, which was fun. One of the scripts that was done by a pair of guys is one I really do not like though - one where one who's girlfriend has broken up with him and the other one wants to do something illegal to get back at her while the first guy is like 'dude no'. It just irks me because the other guy is very much not listening to his friend and I find that so annoying and rude.

It's so quiet at the moment I can hear my ears ringing. Everyone is either out or asleep - Mum and I are the only ones awake at the moment - well, us and the pets. My tinnitus is one of the main reasons I don't do Oz Comic-con - we went with friends a couple years ago, and that's when it started. The whole convention is inside at the Melbourne Convention Centre, and going outside means leaving the con. The building ends up packed and loud, and is overall not really all that fun, apart from all the amazing cosplays. I prefer Supanova because it's spaced out across the Melbourne Showgrounds and there's plenty of outside places to sit and chill/calm down for a while.

Of course, being the ridiculous idiot I am, I'm in the process of planning another cosplay, this one being one I'd have to make from scratch, and seeing as I still haven't finished the last one I started I'm not actually holding out too much hope of ever finishing this new one either. It doesn't help that I can't sew a straight line to save my life and I don't trust the sewing machine not to screw it up royally, since it has a habit of constantly un-threading itself when used. Nor does it help that I'm not entirely sure where to get the materials I'd need for it, but that's easily resolved with a couple Google searches.

In other news, I am currently quite hyped for Fallout 76 - so much so I 'did a stupid' and pre-ordered it. Something gamers always say not to do, mainly because of how No Man's Sky's creators screwed everyone over by releasing an unfinished game. I don't care though - part of the loot I get for pre-ordering is a 'glow in the f***ing dark' map of the area the game is set in, plus a wearable power armour helmet with working headlamp and voice modulator. Now I just gotta build the rest of the armour... naah!

I'm also kinda looking forward to Elder Scrolls six, but since all that was given at E3 was a vine-length teaser trailer, not much is really known about it. It's quite amusing going online and seeing heaps of posts arguing about where it's set though. They're also bringing out a mobile ES game, called Blades, which looks interesting, though I'm especially interested in the fact that they're releasing it on pretty much everything, so I should be able to play it on PC since my phone is now a rather old model, being an S5 and we're up to about S8 nowadays. It could still work though - probably not well enough to play properly though. We'll see.

See, all this is why I'm always so poor.
